Lunigiana
In the northern part of Tuscany, among other beautiful destination such as the Poet’s Gulf, the Cinque Terre, Pisa and other famous Tuscan towns, lies the Massa-Carrara district.
In Lunigiana the nature has created a
wonderful harmony between mountains, hills and sea. The Apuan Alps (the “marble mountains”) overlook the sandy coast for several kilometers.
The lucky geographical position and the exceptional variety make this territory ideal for any tourist.
Lunigiana is named after the roman town of Luna (i.e. “moon”) and is rich in traditions: you will meet everywhere the signs of the past. Castles, churches, medieval villages appears in the middle of a green landscape, along the “Via Francigena” (also called "Via Romea"), the medieval road that linked France to Rome.

In Lunigiana the position of Fosdinovo is  very lovely: on the first hills in front of the sea (500 meters on the sea level), in the middle of pinewoods, chestnut groves and green fields, with an enchanting panorama.
The presence of medieval villages and panoramic trekking routes, the proximity of the sea (Portovenere, Cinque Terre, Versilia), of important towns (Carrara, Lucca, Pisa), of beautiful mountains (the Apuan Alps), makes Fosdinovo an ideal destination for any tourist
